With approximately 80 youth members, the group supports young people in developing valuable life skills, leadership abilities, and a sense of community engagement.
Scouts take to the skiffs
On Tuesday, 2 May, members of the 34th/161st Scout Group visited Fingal Rowing Club to experience East Coast Skiff Rowing under the guidance of Tracey Masterson and their Scout Leaders.

We were delighted to welcome so many young people to the club and introduce them to the sport of skiff rowing. Across the East Coast, youth crews ranging from Under-12 to Under-18 compete alongside adult crews in East Coast Rowing Council (ECRC) regattas, and it is encouraging to see such strong participation and enthusiasm among young rowers.

During the visit, scouts, coxswains, and Scout Leaders took to the water, giving the scouts an opportunity to develop their rowing skills and gain first-hand experience of the sport. For several participants, this experience will contribute towards the achievement of their Chief Scout Award, supporting their personal development and progression within Scouting.
